Martina
McBride has five Country Music Association Awards, but nothing beats
the first time she was given a CMA trophy with her name on it. It was
1999 and it was for female Vocalist of the Year. She says, “It was just
like the whole night I felt like I was walking on air. It was just
magic.” Martina has been nominated several times but says “to finally
hear your name called, it was like the whole world went into slow
motion.” McBride has now won Female Vocalist of the Year four times.
She’s up for the honor again tonight.
