Alaina was obviously not lip-synching the national anthem before the
Lions-Packers game on Thanksgiving – she botched it. Scotty McCreery
obviously was lip-synching at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – he
botched it too. Alaina got to the line, “What so proudly we hailed,
through the twi–” and then stopped for several seconds. She picked it up
in the right place and didn’t have any other glitches, but she had a
sheepish smile at the end. Announcer Joe Buck said, “It’s all about how
you finish.” Alaina tweeted, “Thank you everyone for the kind words. But
the truth is I messed up. I’m gonna spend the rest of the day being
thankful for all my blessings.” As for McCreery, he performed his song
“The Trouble With Girls” on a parade float, but fans could hear his
voice before his lips started moving.
