Artist of the Day - Sugarland

  • Sugarland began in Atlanta with Kristen Hall, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Hall has since left to pursue a solo career.
  • Sugarland’s major label debut, “Twice the Speed of Life,” was released in 2004 and included the hits “Baby Girl” and “Something More.” Their sophomore CD, 2006’s “Enjoy the Ride,” sold more than 1 million copies in its first two months of release. The set has since gone triple-platinum. The first two singles, “Want To” and “Settlin’,” reached No. 1, while “Everyday America” and “Stay” were Top 10 hits.
  • Sugarland’s third studio album, the 2008 platinum-selling “Love on the Inside,” produced three No.1 singles: “All I Want to Do,” “Already Gone” and “It Happens.” In October 2009, Sugarland released their first holiday album, “Gold and Green,” which debuted at No. 12 and peaked at No. 3.
  • Sugarland had the No. 5 selling country album of 2010 with their latest album, “The Incredible Machine,” and the No. 3 selling digital country track of 2010 with “Stuck Like Glue.”
  • “The Incredible Machine” debuted atop The Billboard 200 chart in October. It marked the third time Sugarland has topped the album chart.
  • Sugarland’s single “Little Miss” has inspired the Little Miss Project. The band is inviting fans to share their own stories via video at http://sugarlandmusic.com/useyourvoice. They recently released the video for the hit single “Tonight.”
  • Sugarland was back in Indianapolis Friday night for a make-up/benefit concert for the one that didn’t happen at the Indiana State Fair in August. That’s when powerful wind gusts knocked down stage rigging. Five fans, a security guard and a stagehand died and dozens of people were injured. The free concert was also a tribute to those victims. The concert served as the final stop on Sugarland’s 2011 “Incredible Machine Tour.”
  • For the second consecutive year, Jennifer Nettles will host “CMA Country Christmas,” set to air December 1st on ABC. “CMA Country Christmas” will tape in front of a live audience on November 10th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The taping will follow the 45th Annual CMA Awards, airing live from the Bridgestone Arena on November 9th on ABC.
