Christopher Cagle enrolled at the University of Texas at
Arlington, but dropped out to pursue a career in music. He moved to
Nashville in 1994 and struggled for five years before he was discovered
by the assistant to the president of Virgin Records Nashville.
-
He signed to Virgin and released his debut single, “My Love
Goes On and On,” which hit the charts in 2000 and peaked inside the Top
20. His first album, “Play It Loud,” followed in October. It housed the
chart-topping “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out.”
-
In 2001, Cagle switched from Virgin to Capitol Records, which
reissued “Play It Loud” with two bonus tracks. A self-titled album
followed in 2003, which debuted at No. 1. The single “Chicks Dig It” was
a Top 5 hit.
-
Cagle returned in 2005 with his third album, “Anywhere But Here,” which included “Miss Me Baby” and “Wal-Mart Parking Lot.”
-
Cagle’s latest studio album, “My Life’s Been a Country Song,”
debuted at No. 1 in 2008 and produced the No. 3 hit “What Kinda Gone.”
“No Love Songs” was the second single. He released a 15-song greatest
hits package, “Best Of Chris Cagle,” last year.
-
Chris recently released his first music video in five years.
“Got My Country On” is the debut single from Chris’ upcoming album,
appropriately titled “‘Back in the Saddle.” It’s his first CD for his
new label home, Bigger Picture Music Group, and is expected to be
released sometime next year.
