Kenny
Chesney doesn’t want to be a pop star. The New York Post quoted an
unidentified source as saying Kenny wants a new record label deal – and
that he wants to be more “mainstream.” “He’s very displeased with how
Sony has handled him,” the source said. The Post claimed Kenny is
looking for a $30 million, five-album deal. But Kenny’s manager tells
the newspaper, “This is very inaccurate. We have no plans to be anything
but a country-music artist. ... Also, we have enjoyed a long-term,
successful relationship with Sony.”
