Artist Of The Day: Ronnie Dunn

Ronnie Dunn

  • Ronnie Dunn is best known as one half of the successful group Brooks & Dunn, the top-selling duo in the history of country music.
  • Brooks & Dunn called it quits last year after 20 years. They sold more than 30 million records, won 80-plus industry awards and released 23 No. 1 hits. They received the Academy of Country Music’s Milestone Award for holding the record for the most wins of any artist in the academy’s history, with 26. They were also honored for holding the record for most Top Vocal Duo wins, 15, eight of which were consecutive from 2000-2007.
  • Kix and Ronnie have both re-launched solo careers. Dunn released his self-titled solo album in June. “Ronnie Dunn” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country charts. “Bleed Red” was a Top 10 country single, and “Cost of Livin’” hit the Top 20.
  • Ronnie recently released his new single and the video, “Let The Cowboy Rock,” a tune about leaving a cowboy alone so he can have a good time after having his heart broken. The track was penned by Ronnie and songwriter Dallas Davidson. The video was filmed in Pendleton, Oregon, during the Pendleton Round-Up with rider Blake Knowles, who plays the video’s lead character. Additional footage was filmed in Salt Flat, Utah and Nashville at The Stage on Lower Broadway.
