Chely Wright Showcases Decision To ‘Come Out’ In New Documentary
Chely Wright will take fans behind her emotional decision to “come out” as a lesbian in an upcoming documentary, in which she confesses she once contemplated suicide over her sexuality. Wright, who once dated Brad Paisley, logged three years of home movies and video diaries for “Wish Me Away” – a film that follows her on a personal journey to self-discovery. The raw footage, which offers an intimate glimpse into the singer’s life, captures Wright at some of her lowest moments and in a promotional clip from the movie she talks about her most desperate thoughts, stating, “I have a gun. I own a gun, and I looked at it and I put the gun in my mouth.” The rest of the project centers around Wright’s May 2010 big reveal and features her explaining her new sexual orientation to relatives, friends, fans and her pastor.
