Trisha Yearwood
-
Trisha Yearwood rose to fame as a protégée of Garth Brooks,
appearing on his 1989 self-titled debut and its blockbuster follow-up,
“No Fences.”
-
Yearwood signed with MCA Records in 1991 and released her first
single, “I’m In Love With The Boy,” which became the first debut single
by a female vocalist to hit No. 1 on the charts since Jeannie C. Riley
did it in 1968 with “Harper Valley P.T.A.” Three more singles from the
record went Top 10. She became the first female country singer ever to
sell a million copies of her debut album.
-
Trisha Yearwood’s 2005 set, “Jasper County,” marked her return
after a four-year hiatus. “Jasper County” was re-issued in 2006 with an
additional track, the Yearwood/Brooks duet “Love Will Always Win,” which
earned a Grammy nomination.
-
Yearwood parted ways with MCA in early 2007 and recorded her
10th album for Big Machine Records. “Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of
Love” was released in November 2007. The title track peaked at No. 19.
Yearwood was nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance by the
Grammy Awards for the song. The second single, “This Is Me You’re
Talking To,” peaked at No. 25. Her third single, “They Call It Falling
for a Reason,” was released in 2008 and barely missed the Top 40.
-
Yearwood’s greatest love songs were compiled into the album “Trisha Yearwood - Love Songs,” released in 2008.
-
Trisha’s first cookbook, “Georgia Cooking In An Oklahoma
Kitchen,” debuted at No. 3 on the New York Times Bestseller list in
2008. Her cookbook “Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood: Stories and
Recipes to Share With Family and Friends” was released in April 2010 and
debuted at No. 2 on The New York Times Bestseller list for “How To”
books.
-
Trisha Yearwood has been tapped to host a new daytime series
for the Food Network. The show, which is set to debut in April, has
already begun production in Nashville. She is also working on new music.
