Sugarland’s new album, “Incredible Machine,” is due to drop on October 19th and some fans have been confused about what the upcoming effort will sound like. In several interviews, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush have said their record would include “steampunk” elements, causing some to worry they would depart from their trademark country sound. “That’s really our fault for the way that we explained it, to be honest,” Nettles tells Entertainment Weekly. “It has everything to do with the visual.” She added, “We wanted another world on stage. We wanted something fun, a visual aesthetic to be inspired by. We chose that one. It has nothing to do with the music. I definitely put the brunt of that on our shoulders for anyone who didn’t understand that.”
