Alan Jackson will receive ASCAP’s Founders Award during the performing rights organization’s annual Country Music Awards on September 14th. The award is given to musicians who have “made pioneering contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators.” The gala also honors the songwriters and publishers of the year’s most-performed songs, along with honoring the songwriter, songwriter/artist, song and publisher of the year with ASCAP affiliations. The invitation-only event will take place in downtown Nashville.
