Rumors have been spreading recently that Montgomery Gentry and Columbia Records Nashville had ended their decade-long relationship. Now a greatest hits package from the duo that was to be released this week has been nixed. Eddie and Troy posted a note on their website reading: “As you may have heard, there were plans to release a Greatest Hits yesterday, but we wanted to make sure you knew that would not be happening. BUT, know that we are working on an album of brand new material. We are more motivated than ever to get the biggest and baddest Montgomery Gentry album ever out there! Hang in there and we’ll get that done as quickly as we can.”
