When Blake Shelton was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry last week, the singer was asked to join in a very new way. Following a performance of “Hillbilly Bone” with his buddy and Grand Ole Opry member Trace Adkins, Shelton received a Tweet from Adkins that read “You are invited to join the Grand Ole Opry. See you on 10/23/2010!” “This right here is the highlight of my career,” Shelton told those in attendance. Shelton’s fiancé, Miranda Lambert, was also excited about the news, tweeting, “I am engaged to a member of the Grand Ole’ Opry!!!! That rocks:)” Blake will be officially inducted October 23rd.
