Garth Brooks and hundreds of volunteers built and repaired houses in Birmingham, Alabama, as part of the 27th annual Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. An avid supporter of Habitat, Brooks worked in the Wylam Oaks subdivision of Birmingham. He also performed for Habitat supporters on Thursday. Throughout the week, volunteers helped build or repair a total of 86 homes in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore and Annapolis, Maryland; Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota; and Birmingham, Alabama, as part of the Carter Work Project.
