The
changes in this year’s Grammys will be felt among country acts. As part
of its reshuffling of awards, the 54th Grammys will see the number of
categories whittled from 109 to 78. And as part of the changes, men and
women will compete against each other in vocal categories in country
music as well as in pop and R&B. That cuts down the number of
nominees since there won’t be separate categories for each sex.
