Steve Holy, the youngest of eight children, wrote his first song when he was 13 for his brother Danny, who passed away at 21.
-
Holy auditioned for the local Mesquite Opry at age 19, and
later earned a spot on Johnny High’s Country Music Revue, eventually
winning the revue’s Entertainer of the Year award. This brought the
attention of legendary country producer Wilbur Rimes (and his daughter
LeAnn), who encouraged Holy to shop himself around Nashville.
-
Steve launched his Curb debut single, “Don’t Make Me Beg,” in
1999, and soon debuted at the Las Vegas Hilton as the opening act for
LeAnn. He topped the charts in 2002 with “Good Morning Beautiful.” The
single was also featured in the Jennifer Lopez movie “Angel Eyes.” “Good
Morning Beautiful,” from his debut album “Blue Moon,” charted at No. 1
for five straight weeks and was No. 10 on Billboard’s list of top
country songs of the decade.
-
After following “Good Morning Beautiful” and several
middle-charting singles, Holy scored another No. 1 hit in 2006 with
“Brand New Girlfriend,” followed by an album of the same name on Curb
Records. The album also produced the minor hits “Come On Rain” and “Men
Buy the Drinks (Girls Call the Shots).”
-
Steve Holy is back with his first new music in five years. The album “Love Don’t Run” features the title track.
