Musicians like Kathy Mattea, Emmylou Harris, Dave Matthews, Patty Loveless and others are hoping their music can preserve the Appalachians. Last night’s “Music Saves Mountains” concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville was presented by the Natural Resources Defense Council. The concert was to raise awareness about coal mining that removes the tops of mountains. The council says this is devastating Appalachia. Find out more at www.musicsavesmountains.org.
