It was already pretty much a sure thing that Lady Antebellum’s second album, “Need You Now,” would debut at the top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, but sales projections for the album look to be about 100,000 copies too low. When the album was released last week, industry sources said the trio’s sophomore effort would move 325,000 copies. By the following day they had added 25,000 to that prediction. Now they say the album could move as many as 425,000 in its first week. We’ll know for sure when the real numbers come out this Wednesday. No country album has sold more than 400,000 in its first week since November of 2008 when Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” hit 592,000. In 2009, only six albums across all genres sold more than 400,000 in their first week.
