Country music’s elite who gathered in Las Vegas for Sunday’s night’s ACM Awards stuck around for an extra day to pay homage to retiring duo Brooks & Dunn. With the pair announcing they’ll go their separate ways following their 47-city “The Last Rodeo” tour, the trek ends a 20-year collaboration that resulted in their being the top-selling country duo of all time. Kix and Ronnie were honored last night at the taping of “ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo.” Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Keith Urban were among the performers. Brooks and Dunn explained that their decision to quit had nothing to do with personal differences; it was mainly because they felt that it was the right time to do so. “ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo” will air May 23rd on CBS.
